(Jan. 13, 2009) Olympia, WA - WSECU has had a long history of holding a payroll deduction fundraising effort each fall to support the work and agencies of the United Way of Thurston County.

In what many consider a down time for charitable donations, credit union employees dug deep and delivered a record donation to the United Way following several weeks of fundraising.

Employee Carlos Felan of WSECU's corporate headquarters was chairperson of this year's effort. He and his team came up with creative and effective ways to get people motivated to participate and to donate including a book sale, a basket raffle and even a dodgeball tournament.  Felan was recognized by the United Way in 2008 as Coordinator of the Year.

WSECU is extremely proud of its generous employees who raised the $34,850. Thank you!
