Winner of Credit Union Youth Week contest cries "Wii, wii, wii, all the way home!"
May 13, 2009 ( Olympia, WA) -- The competition was tough with more than 200 entries. But the rest were no match for 11 year-old Brett Lamphere of Centralia who came away with the grand prize in WSECU’s Credit Union Youth Week Coloring Contest, held this spring.
Brett’s entry was colorful, neat, and imaginative. He added extra details that impressed the jury of WSECU employees. They selected his artwork as the credit union’s statewide contest winner.
Brett is a homeschooler whose interests include Star Trek video games. That’s why he chose as his first place prize a new Nintendo Wii gaming system.
Brett was presented his new Wii on May 11 at WSECU’s Chehalis Branch on Kresky Ave.
Each April, WSECU commemorates Credit Union Youth Week which focuses on teaching young people about cooperative banking and money management.
